On April 26, in honor of Children’s Day in Colombia, the Luum Awards and the initiative Creatives, Communicators and Strategists for a Better World (CCSBW) collaborated with the NGO Educambio to encourage children in Cali to read and become future change agents.
The advertising agency El Bando Creativo donated beautifully illustrated copies of the book María to a school in the low-income neighborhood of Siloé. After reading the book, members of the agency accompanied CCSBW for an activity in which the children were asked to identify social and environmental issues and to brainstorm products and services that they could develop to address these issues.
The ingenuity and creativity of the children amazed the volunteers – these children definitely have the creativity to bring about real change in our world.
To sweeten the experience, Palmira’s Berkey Bakery sponsored the bread and cookies for the children, and the brand Alu sponsored the drinks.
You too can become a change agent! Contact CCSBW to be partnered up with a brand, NGO, or advertising agency that is working towards making the world a better place. The change starts with you!
